Our Programs
ABA and IBI Therapy
The Bloom Centre uses an interdisciplinary, evidence based approach in providing Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) therapy. We provide interventions built on the research-based, practical approach of ABA and IBI principles to teach new skills, and use technology to change behaviour in a systematic and measurable way. ABA and IBI are effective for children with exceptionalities and targets various developmental domains including, but not limited to; social and academic skills, gross motor, communication, play, and adaptive skills. Targeting these various skills increases the child’s independence and improves their quality of life. The Bloom Centre is made up of a multidisciplinary team of professionals who work together to support the goals you have set for your child’s developmental journey. Our ABA and IBI therapy services are delivered in a 1:1 environment by Instructor Therapists who work directly with your child, and are monitored by Senior Therapists who supervise and train Instructor Therapists. In addition to developing and monitoring programs, our Senior Therapists work with Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBA’s) and Registered Psychologists who supervise all programs and ensure they are the best fit for each unique child. Please contact us for more information on ABA and IBI therapy, and to work on an individualized program for your child’s needs.
School Readiness
TBC team will be working with you to help your child with a smooth transition into school. The School Readiness program is not only designed for initial transitions, but also available to children who are already in school and need more assistance to reach their full potential. This includes tutoring services for select academic subjects, transition classrooms, and small group ABA programs to focus on interactive teaching. Together we will come up with the best fit of research-based programs, unique to your child and their needs. Our goal is to help your child with their transition into school, build independence throughout the school year and be fully integrated with their classmates and in all environments.
Social Skills Development & Group Programs
Social Development and group programs are essential in maintaining skill generalization and creating a fun, practical teaching environment. The Bloom Centre offers and will be implementing social group sessions based on the child's prerequisite skills. We will use this information in conducting various activities to enhance your child’s individual needs, and determine what specific ratio will be most beneficial for your child. The group ratio will be based on similar-aged peers and goals to ensure an inclusive and collaborative program. Our social and play groups will be available throughout the year, please contact us for more information on what programs we are currently offering.
Parent Coaching
TBC offers endless family support, as family involvement is instrumental in all areas of our program. We encourage Parent Coaching for parents and caregivers who want hands-on training in implementing different ABA and IBI teaching strategies in their home. This helps generalize your child’s skills and allows them to have consistent teaching for more effective learning. Our program is designed to encourage family involvement, build confidence and educate parents on how to maximize learning in the home. Aside from coaching with ABA and IBI teaching strategies, our program also aims to help promote community support and provide families with knowledge on the funding system. TBC prioritizes working with families, and staying connected in order to build the best support system for your child.
Consultation
The Bloom Centre provides consultation services which can take place in our centre, in your home, or at your child’s school. Consultations can be done after an assessment with your child, or directly through the families. Based on the assessment and the families needs, we are then able to provide suggested strategies and can work together towards your goals for your child.
